The Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival is held every year on the 9th day of the 8th lunar month in Do Son, Hai Phong municipality, Vietnam. The competing buffalos are selected and begins training from the 5th lunar month for the festival. The buffalos are chosen from their appearance, wide chest, big groin, long neck, and a bow shaped horn.
