
Devils Tower National Monument is the first United States National Monument declared by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1906. This monolithic igneous intrusion rises 386 meter (1,267 feet) above the surrounding terrain and the summit is 1,558 meter (5,112 feet) above sea level.
This natural rock formation is located in the Black Hills near Hulett and Sundance in Crook County, northeastern Wyoming, above the Belle Fourche River. Climbers are allowed to climb the Devils Tower, all climbers are required to register with a park ranger before and after attempting a climb.
