Devils Tower National Monument is the first United States National Monument declared by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1906. This monolithic igneous intrusion rises 386 meter (1,267 feet) above the surrounding terrain and the summit is 1,558 meter (5,112 feet) above sea level.
