The Marina Bay Floating Platform is located in downtown Singapore. This floating platform is used for many events, prominently the National Day Parade and Formula 1 Night Race. The Singapore Flyer (新加坡摩天观景轮) is located at the Marina Bay area. Its described by its operators as an observation wheel, This ferris wheel reaches 42 stories high, with a total height of 165 meter (541 feet), and is 5 meter (16 feet) taller than the Star of Nanchang and 30 meter (98 feet) taller than the London Eye.

The first night race of Formula 1 was held from 26th to 28th September 2008 on the Marina Bay Street Circuit in downtown Singapore. This first night race was won by Fernando Alonso for the Renault F1 Team. The night race is held at 8pm (Singapore Time - GMT+8) to suit European viewers.
