Machu Picchu is a pre-Columbian Inca site located 2,430 meter (8,000 feet) above sea level. Often referred to as "The Lost City of the Incas", Machu Picchu is located in the Cusco Region of Peru, the Incas started building it around 1430 AD and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983.

The Sacred Valley of the Incas, also known as Urubamba Valley stretches 60 km between the cities of Pisac and Ollantaytambo. Most often the Sacred Valley often misses out to the more famous site of Machu Picchu and just imagine the sacred valley is just below it.

Sacsayhuamán

Sacsayhuamán, Cusco, Peru

Sacsayhuamán is a walled complex near the old city of Cusco, Peru. Located at an altitude of 3,701 meter (12,000 feet) this walled complex is a UNESCO World Heritage site that is part of the city of Cuzco. Sacsayhuamán was built by the prehistoric indigenous people of the Killke culture around 1100 AD. They were superseded by the Incas, who occupied and expanded the complex beginning about 1200 AD.
