Volcano surfing is an extreme sport in growing popularity. Thrill seekers can surf on Cerro Negro, one of Nicaragua’s most active and dangerous volcanoes. The company, Green Pathways Tour organises volcano surfing sessions for thrill seeking adrenalin junkies.

Participants will have to be in protective gear, make the 726 meter (2,381 feet) climb up Cerro Negro and surf down on specially built plywood boards. Phillip Southan, owner of Green Pathways Tour says there are possibilities of the volcano errupting but a bigger danger is that the volcano surfers might fall of the boards and injure themselves.
