Naki Sumo is a baby crying contest held every year at the Sensō-ji Temple in Asakusa, Taitō, Tokyo. This age old tradition is supposed to bring good health to the baby and also drives away evil spirits.
In the contest, amateur sumo wrestlers hold the babies and try to make the babies cry. A sumo referee judges the match where the baby that cries the longest and loudest is considered the winner. This year's event was held on 25th April 2010.
