
The Terracotta Army (兵马俑) are the warriors to guard the mausouleum of Qin Shi Huang the First Emperor of China. These Terracotta Warriors are dated back to 210 BC, and were discovered in 1974 by local farmers near Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. The Terracotta Army consist over 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses.
The purpose of this terracotta army was to help rule another empire with Qin Shi Huang Di in the afterlife. According to historians, construction of this mausoleum began in 246 BC and involved 700,000 workers. The terracotta warriors vary in height, standing 1.83 to 1.95 meter based on their role, the tallest being the generals. The entire Terracotta Army includes strong warriors, chariots, horses, officials, acrobats, strongmen, and musicians.
