Moai are human figures carved from a single rock on Easter Island, Chile. These statues are between 1,250 and 1,500 years old, where about half are located at the main Moai quarry of Rano Raraku.
These Maoi statues are the living faces of deified ancestors of the Polynesians that colonized Easter Island. There are 887 Moai statues located within Rapa Nui National Park that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.
